Good Evening,
I am a relatively new mother loving every minute of parenthood and trying to make each moment in our lives meaningful (thus the title) - I am eager to hear how others do this in their homes and perhaps share what we are trying.
I love to read blogs, but never saw myself trying it out. Today, a friend and I were talking about our adventures with the Montessori floor bed. It is a beautiful concept, but trickier in practice. It is also the impetus for this blog. Come one, come all, share your floor bed conundrums and other delightful experiments as we try to figure out how to make our children's lives full of purpose and meaning.
That's it for tonight.

Great blog. My son's not mobile yet, but when he is I think the floor bed will get alot more challenging. I look forward to hearing about (and learning from) others' experiences.
ReplyDeleteThanks to Julia for starting this - I think it'll be a great forum!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter Lara is 11 months old, and she has been on a floor bed since she moved out of the bassinet at around three months. It has certainly been very challenging at times, but overall, I see the concrete benefits of the Montessori floor bed in the independence and confidence that Lara exudes in her environment.
I'm happy to share my experiences through sleep training (yes, it is possible on a floor bed!), increased mobility, and all the other fun ups and downs we have had.
While I found my own way with sleep training and the floor bed, I've discussed with Julia how great it would be to get the perspectives of Montessorians who are trained in A to I.
